Oracle Applications need ILM, Information Lifecycle Management, services over the time to manage the database growth,  performance, disk costs and regulatory compliance.

4PI offers Oracle EBS ILM program that streamlines application databases and helps long-term application performance and availability without increasing infrastructure costs.

Why Database Archiving?

Performance: To address the production database performance issues due to its immense volume.

Compliance: To meet long-term data retention, legal and regulatory compliance requirements.

Operational cost: To control infrastructure growth and cost

Application Upgrades: To reduce upgrade downtime

Application Clones: To reduce the clone time and disk savings

 

Solutions:

Oracle ILM: Oracle provides out of the box solution but has limitations and not cost effect.

Third party solutions – There are few solutions available for Oracle EBS Applications, and are licensed products and has good ROI over the years.

Seeded Solutions – There are few solutions available for Oracle EBS Applications, and are licensed products and has good ROI over the years.

ILM solutions will migrate less frequently accessed data to a separate database, and then purge the production database to reduce overall data capacity.  DBAs need to perform Database re-org to regain the unused Disk space.

The Application end-users will have access to Archive data using Database links, and end-users do not need to perform any additional steps than selecting required responsibilities.
